17th EUSKO IKASKUNTZA CONGRESS
Norms for submitting management and coordination proposals
Once the contents and the main lines of work being carried out during the 17th Eusko Ikaskuntza Congress have been defined, a deadline is established for presenting proposals on the participation in the Congress. During this FIRST phase, an appeal is made, fundamentally, those people interested in taking on the responsibility of directing, organising and/or coordinating the various sessions through which the concrete contents of the Congress will be channelled.
On a merely orientative basis, activity organisation and/or coordination proposals to be included within the framework of the 9 simposiums around which the 17th Eusko Ikaskuntza Congress is articulated could make reference to any of the following formats:
· Communication sessions: this would be a matter of organising, coordinating and dynamising various sessions designed to develop theoretical contents on the themes to be worked on during the Congress. During such sessions, it would be possible to include the presentation of communications in accordance to habitual Congress or academic meeting styles and methodologies.
· Working sessions: this would imply organising, coordinating and dynamising various sessions in which the main objective would be to divulge practical or applied experiences connected to any of the themes included in the Congress.
· Posters: this would imply the organisation of the presentation of contents –theoretical or practical (experiences)- connected to the themes to be dealt with during the Congress in poster format, combining text and pictures in a schematic manner.
· Presentation of books, documentaries, etc.: the organisation of various sessions, the contents of which would be to present and divulge the contents of books, documentaries, audiovisual presentations or various updated materials. The contents of such materials to be related with the lines of work established for the Congress.
· World café: organizing a space and time for a meeting of people in which, in an informal environment, the conversation is generated in which ideas may flow, knowledge and perceptions are exchanged, solutions to various matters are suggested, etc. in this case, the theme or themes to be worked on during the world café are to coincide with some of the lines of work of the Congress.
· Seminar for the presentation of research project results: organisation and coordination of working sessions during which the objective would be to inform and generate debate and reflexion on the results of the research projects carried out (or still underway) the contents of which coincide with any of the thematic lines of the Congress.
· Artistic expressions: organisation and presentation of various forms of artistic expression content of which is related with any of the thematic lines of the Congress or, in general terms, with the objective is the Congress pretends to work on. Such events may include performances, artistic installations, exhibitions, audiovisual presentations.
· Participation of young people: organisation and presentation of the various forms young people have to contribute to Congress. The various participational options will have the objective of developing the contents related to the themes to be worked on during the Congress by means of theoretical works, practical experiences and artistic expressions, among other options.
Apart from the formats pointed out above, there is a possibility to propose another type of working format, which would be studied and, if appropriate, will be admitted by the Scientific Committee of the Congress.
In any case, any proposals should be submitted in writing and include, at least, the following contents: type of format to be developed, the thematic area in which it would be included, interest and/or particular contributions of the proposal and the main characteristics thereof.
The organisation of the Congress invites and encourages everybody interested to send their sessions management and coordination proposals observing the following rules:
1.- proposal submission texts
management and coordination proposals are to be submitted in writing in any of the core languages spoken in the Basque Country: Basque, Spanish and French. Proposals in English will also be admitted.
In any case, the language used for the presentation of such proposals is to coincide with the language to be used to the development of the proposed activity (please be warned that there will only be a simultaneous translation service available during the Congress plenary sessions).
Maximum length of such texts is to be three pages and under those circumstances will it be above 10.500 characters (including spaces),bibliography included (a maximum of only five bibliographical entries will be admitted).
The font to be used is Times New Roman size 12. There will be a one-space separation between lines. Pages are to be numbered in the upper right-hand margin.
The texts with the contents of the proposals are to be sent in MS WORD format. There is also the possibility of enclosing, if deemed appropriate, any support material that can be considered of interest in supporting the proposal (photography, video, etc.).
2.- Title and author of the proposal
the proposal is to be headed by a title, under which is to be the name of its author or authoress. There will be a maximum of two authors or authoresses per management and/or coordination proposal.
Next to the name, the following data is to be included on each of the authors or authoresses of the proposal:
