WOULD YOU LIKE TO DISCOVER THE PAST AND THE PARTICIPANTS IN THE HISTORY OF YOUR FAMILY?

WOULD YOU LIKE FUTURE GENERATIONS TO KNOW YOUR HISTORY AND REINFORCE THEIR IDENTITY?

Eusko Ikaskuntza–Basque Studies Society provides you with the opportunity to know about your origins by means of its Genealogical Research Service.

We believe each family history is unique and unrepeatable; this is why, our fundamental objectives are based on personal attention, professional advise, transparency and commitment.

The results in research will vary according to the generations studied, and can be improved depending on their interest and the existence of parish registers in the village or town in question. Research could go as far back as 1550, which is from when, as a consequence of the Council of Trento, parish registers were put to general use.

HOW WE WORK

When carrying out genealogical research, we recur to parish Baptism, Wedding and Death registers in the various municipalities. Besides, we visit the archives in which the notary protocols are to be found and we consult all the pertinent bibliographical sources.

In such cases as is necessary, fieldwork is carried out localising and photographing the manor house or the original house of which there is reference through the genealogical tree.
