This collection was created in 1994 with the objective of publishing the biographies, together with short photographic reports and the bibliographies of the personalities to whom Eusko Ikaskuntza-Basque Studies Society has annually awarded the Eusko Ikaskuntza Premio Manuel Lekuona. This prize was created in 1983 to distinguish people who have stood out for the whole of their work in favour of Basque culture.
